Keeping Busy!

Hi there! So it's been a couple months since I actually blogged on here besides my 52 week project!
I am excited I am keeping up with it. Every now and them I get to busy to post on here but I will get back into the habit of doing so hopefully!

Like I said I've stayed productive. I am working on a wedding album which has been so tedious, but I love how it's forcing me to tap into my creativeness. Yes I get frustrated, but it will be so worth all the worry when everything is donzo!

I had decided not to really take on jobs this year. (I've had more than my share of clients that had stolen the enjoyment out of business aspect of photography.) I know I know... We all have to pay our dues. But sometimes with my experience it gets freaking Ridiculous!!!  So I decided not to take on too many photo sessions till I sorta revamp EVERYTHING! Prices, Styles, People I do business with etc... I came to this decision because the clients I had been dealing with weren't a "good fit." And that can do more harm than good and truth be told I'd rather not have their business at all. So I'm taking it all as a ginormous learning experience. It's gotten me to thinking about who I want to work with photographer wise also. I had an ordeal with someone whom I thought was a really good friend. Even better they were also a photographer. Well they are still into photography. Bottom line we weren't a "good fit" either. So ties were severed for the best actually. I can't let jealousy come between the one thing I love the most. My art.  It's not worth it and I know the people that are in my life are supportive and not secretly hoping I fail. Who needs that negativity really?

I did except 3 upcoming jobs recently. One is a cake smash which would actually be my first. (YAY) The next is a brother sister school shoot. Should be fun adn they are lucjy because they missed their actual school shoot. This just means their pix will look way better than the other kids!  The 3rd shoot is a wedding reception. I excepted because it's not till the summer and gives me oodles of time to prepare.  Also the stress of the last wedding was too much. I figured a reception would allow me to be more creative to make the client feel special and make sure she's happy. What I'm really stoked about is the gift I'm giving to them in the end as a thank you for choosing me!
I'm going solo on this one which means my rules. So far the client and I are on the same page and all is  left is to meet and sign contracts.

My 52 week project keeps me busy in between. Also our family friends Adam and Nina moved away to New Orleans yesterday. I'm really sad. We've been helping Adam pack the last 3 weeks. He's a really great guy. Almost like a big brother I always wanted.  Seriously, he's a tall drink of water! LOL He messes with us all the time.  I know he's not too close with his own family. And I'm so attached to that darn dog! Nina the diva! She a beautiful Bulldog. She runs everything. Adam is really awsum. He gave us one of his flat screen TVs!  I'm going to mail him a picture of the view from his old apt. He used to live on the 26th floor in a high rise apt... I've gotten some great pics of the arch.  My family fully plans on visiting him this summer! Is that too soon? hahaha! I'd add pic of Adam and Nina but they are still RAW files and I am pooped! Another day...

Also keeping busy with a couple Photography contest that I will be entering. I am in the process of going through my portfolio trying to select the right entries. Nervous but whats the worst that can happen. Its all in fun anyways...

Okay I'm sleepy! Till next tym!
